Extra Pay for Extra Duty Position - Drexel Hill Middle School - 8th Grade Field Hockey Coach
Upper Darby School District is seeking qualified seasonal Coach candidates for the position listed above. Successful candidates will have knowledge of the sport and will demonstrate effective coaching technique, leadership and mentoring skills; the ability to relate well within the school community; and the desire to provide an atmosphere conducive to good sportsmanship and high standards. Qualified candidates will enhance the School's commitment to diversity and inclusivity and will be committed to the School's Vision and Mission.
Qualifications
- Prior successful coaching experience, preferably at the high school and / or college level
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
- A strong character with a team-oriented spirit, and the ability to connect meaningfully with students throughout our diverse community
- Considerable knowledge of and experience coaching that sport, including competitions, practices, and strength / conditioning
- Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to organize and prioritize work
- High school or collegiate playing experience
- Experience working with middle and high school-aged students
- A positive student-centered approach to coaching
- Demonstrated technical, theoretical, and applied knowledge pertinent to the assigned sport
- CPR and first aid certified or the ability to become certified.
- Strong affinity for the mission of Upper Darby School District and an educational philosophy consistent with the school's mission and values
- Knowledge of basic computer operations
- Required Clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114)
- Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School
