Overview
We currently have a 1st shift full-time position available in our shelters. Our Byrne Family Shelter accommodates up to 8 families and our Hixon Adult Shelter accommodates up to 20 adults. Our 1st shift position is an active role with shared responsibilities in both shelters on our campus.
Shelter Staff assist guests and visitors with a variety of needs, facilitate daily operations, conduct rounds on campus, and ensure the environment is safe, clean, and welcoming. Shelter staff are able to build positive and supportive relationships and are respectful and accepting of people facing challenges in their lives. Reliability and punctuality are vitally important to ensure the smooth operation of the shelter.

Compensation
The pay rate for this position is $21.00 per hour.
Schedule: 40 hours/week, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Schedule may include both weekdays and weekend days.
Requirements
Critical to the success of this position are:

- Proven track record of reliability and punctuality
- Comfortable serving lunch to up to 20 adults while maintaining food safety standards

- Works well in stressful situations including occasional crises
- Team-player
- Must be able to bend, move about, and lift up to 50 pounds
- This position requires custodial-type tasks, kitchen skills, laundry completion, restocking supplies, and occasionally clearing and sanding snow on paths
