What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Security Tech position at Upson Regional Medical Center?
The Mental Health Security Tech will assist with admissions by ensuring the patient’s room is ready by logging/securing the patient’s belongings/valuables and orienting the patient to the unit, answer phone and call lights, relay messages, transport patients safely to groups, team meetings, other nursing units and departments as required and requested, accompanies patients off of the unit when instructed by the nurse, maintaining safety and eye-sight supervision at all times, document patient care in an accurate, thorough and timely manner, assist with discharge by ensuring patient is bathed, groomed and dressed and all patient’s belongings are collected and signed out to patient/family, safety/quality, responsible for maintaining and providing security for patients, and staff on SilverCare, inspire confidence in patients, and employees by performing and communicating in a professional and courteous manner, assist with 1013 and combative patients adhering to the department’s restraint policy, assist with the escorts of patients from Silvercare to other departments including diagnostic services for treatment, performs work to ensure a safe milieu for patients, visitors and staff, checks patient's room each shift for contraband.
Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent, current BLS certification
Crisis prevention intervention certificate within three months of hire
Prefer at least one year of healthcare experience
