What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Tech I position at Upson Regional Medical Center?
The Mental Health Technician (MHT) is an integral member of the multidisciplinary treatment team and provides support for the patient's therapeutic treatment plan and reports vital information directly to the Registered Nurse. Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to observing and recording patient information pertinent to the treatment plan, welcoming new patients through specific admission protocols; assisting with the patient discharge process; maintaining direct patient observation; lead patient education, community, goal, and activity groups; assist nursing staff by taking vital signs and help patients perform ADL's. MHT's may be expected to make entries into the patient's legal, medical record. Other duties may include light clerical / record filing, general housekeeping duties required to keep the patient and staff areas clean and safe; answer phone and do light clerical duties; or other duties as delegated by the supervising RN.
Required:
- High School Education or Equivalent
- At least one year experience in healthcare field
- Lifting patients, equipment and supplies.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to assist patients with performing different personal hygiene and laundry tasks.
