What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mortgage Lender position at Upstate Federal Credit Union?
Purpose :
A mortgage loan officer is responsible for providing members with friendly, accurate and timely service. They are responsible for developing new relationships with members while maintaining relationships with existing membership. The Mortgage Loan Officer is also active in promoting all products and services.

Provide friendly, professional, personal service to all members
Maintain member confidentiality
Maintain a professional work environment and a businesslike appearance
Maintain a high level of accuracy in posting member transactions
Maintain a good attendance record
Follow all security procedures and policies
Follow all operational procedures and policies regarding members transactions and information
Participate in training programs offered
Be courteous, tactful, and diplomatic
Primary Responsibilities :
Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable staff with disabilities to perform the primary function.
Answer phones and assist member needs
Quote loan values, payment calculations, interest rates, and terms
Take and evaluate mortgage loan request by members
Process and disburse loan funds if approved
File necessary paperwork to exact mortgage liens
Make sure loans are being submitted for QC
Quote loan payoffs / attempt to recover loans
Open new account for new applicants
Submit new and changed payroll deduction and net pay deposit request
Answer member questions regarding their accounts or our policies / procedures
Cross sell products and services
Provide back up staff support
Track mortgage lien filings
Maintain Quality Control of new mortgages
Provide notary service
View / visit property for real estate purchases or refinances.
Assist members with completion of application, inspecting completed documents for accuracy and thoroughness.
Image documents into efichency when necessary
Market mortgage products with community construction companies, realtors, pool companies, HVAC companies, etc.
Knowledge, Skill & Abilities :
Excellent member service skills
Mathematical skill
Strong communication and organizational skills
Strong computer, telephone, calculator and other office machine knowledge
Ability to work in fast-paced environment
Ability to make sound decisions
Familiar with regulations, policies and procedures
Physical Demands :
Must be able to remain in a stationary sitting position 75% of the time. Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, fax, etc. Must be able to communicate well with others. Occasional lifting of 10 lbs.
Travel :
Limited travel is expected for this position.
