What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Laboratory Technologist position at Upstate Medical University?
Job Summary
Perform generalist duties for multiple areas of the Laboratory which may include any of the following areas: Core lab, Microbiology, and/or Blood Bank. Job duties to include specimen receiving and processing; computer related duties such as patient entry, test request entry/requisition format, on-line/manual entry of test results, data retrieval, printing and answering worksheets, printing panic and pending log sheets, phoning panic values and documenting in computer system, quality control, reagent preparation, following general laboratory safety procedures including universal precautions and chemical and biochemical hazard precautions.
Minimum Qualifications
NYS license/registration or provisional permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist and 2 years clinical lab experience required. Candidates with no clinical lab experience or with a NYS license/registration or limited permit to practice as a Clinical Laboratory Technician will be considered for appointment to a commensurate title and salary. Ability to distinguish colors required.
