The Opportunity
UVS is looking for a skilled and motivated Ultrasound Imaging Technician to join our Radiology Department. This is a unique opportunity for both experienced Human Diagnostic Medical Sonographers and Licensed Veterinary Technicians with an interest in expanding their skills and transitioning into the veterinary field. You will work closely with our board-certified radiologists and veterinary medical teams to perform high-quality ultrasound imaging, supporting diagnostic and treatment efforts for a variety of veterinary patients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform high-quality ultrasound exams (abdominal, thoracic, musculoskeletal) on veterinary patients following established protocols.
- Collaborate with radiologists for timely imaging interpretation and reporting.
- Ensure patient and staff safety by adhering to safety protocols and OSHA guidelines.
- Stay current on sonography advancements to deliver exceptional care.
- Assist with training, workflow improvements, and maintaining imaging equipment.
- Review patient records to ensure all necessary information is available for imaging procedures.

What We’re Looking For:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology or Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographers and Vascular Technologists, encouraged to apply
- Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, RVT), preferred
- Veterinary Technology Sonographer Instruction (SOUND), SPI and/or Certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or another relevant certification board, required
- VTS in Diagnostic Imaging, encouraged to apply
