What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at Uptown Blanco Arts and Entertainment?
Our busy restaurant is looking for a detail-oriented individual with exceptional time management abilities who is passionate about providing our clients with an exceptional dining experience. As our next line cook, you will be responsible for ensuring that every dish is cooked and presented following appropriate recipes, and presentation standards, and with accuracy for the guest order.
We need an experienced cook who is comfortable with a variety of cooking techniques such as poaching, braising, roasting, charbroiling, sautéing, grilling, frying, and baking. Our ideal applicant is a team player who can successfully communicate with other kitchen staff to keep our restaurant running efficiently. Compensation : 16 - $20 hourly
Responsibilities :
- Set up cooking stations and fill them with all of the essential preparation items for a shift
- Clean and sanitize all workstations, including counters, utensils, cooking equipment, and the refrigerator, in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Adhere to established storage and waste control standards for meats, vegetables, fruits, and dairy products to ensure quality food is served
- Demonstrate professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with visitors, vendors, and associates
- Grill, broil or saute menu items according to standard recipes and presentation specifications
- Portion and preparation of food items, including fish, beef, chicken, pork, etc., as prescribed by company specifications
- Preparation of sauces and / or garnishes as required by company specifications related to the specific menu item
- Performs related work as assigned and as circumstance requires
- Be able to interact with vendors and customers when needed
- Keep all workstations, counters, equipment, and other kitchen areas clean and sanitary according to health and safety guidelines
- Guarantee that food quality is adhered to, properly stored food and items while meeting waste control requirements
- Follow established recipes and prepare foods to presentation standards
