Upward Bound House (UBH) is dedicated to ending the cycle of intergenerational family homelessness. Position Summary

UBH seeks a bright and highly-motivated individual with excellent critical thinking ability to join our growing Development Department. The Development & Corporate Partnerships Manager is responsible for seeking opportunities to generate new partnerships with corporations, stewarding ongoing relationships, and maintaining clear and consistent communications with the corporate sector. This position will also be responsible for executing UBH fundraising events. This role is centered on crafting compelling storytelling that resonates across digital and corporate platforms. The successful candidate will cultivate and steward corporate relationships, develop strategic engagement opportunities, and create content that amplifies Upward Bound Houses mission.

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

1) Corporate Partnership Development :

  • Identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate partnerships to support UBHs programs and initiatives.
  • Develop tailored sponsorship proposals and presentations that align with corporate social responsibility (CSR) goals of potential partners.
  • Conduct prospect research related to corporate relations goals and objectives; arrange and participate in cultivation visits and strategic conversations with current and prospective corporate partners.
  • Develop opportunities for other types of corporate partnerships, including cause-marketing and customer point-of-sale donations.
  • Leverage corporate relationships to provide value-added services, such as increased media exposure or product donations that support UBH programs.

2) Relationship Management :

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for existing corporate partners, ensuring satisfaction and fulfillment of partnership agreements.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships through regular communication, updates, and engagement activities.
  • Steward donors and fulfill benefit requirements and requests, ensuring excellence in customer service.
  • 3) Strategic Planning :

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive corporate relations strategy to meet annual fundraising goals.
  • Research industry trends and identify innovative opportunities for corporate engagement.
  • 4) Event Lead :

  • Serve as the lead for event planning, management, production and sponsorships.
  • Direct solicitation of prospects for event sponsorships and in-kind donations.
  • Event planning and production management.
  • Event revenue generation.
  • Event administration and logistics.
  • 5) Donor Engagement and Communication :

  • Develop and implement an effective communications strategy to plan, execute and evaluate the communications UBH including marketing, events, newsletters, and website & social media content.
  • Generate content for written marketing materials, newsletters, social media posts, and website content with expert level skills in the areas of writing, editing, digital marketing, and social media that adheres to UBHs mission and voice.
  • Monitor and manage website content.
  • Coordination of direct mail and e-appeals.
  • Identify prospects for individual and corporate support, conduct prospect research, initiate, and conduct direct outreach and solicitation, independently and / or in partnership with senior leadership.

    1) Strong interpersonal team player skills, experience working in collaborative environments.

    2) Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial, and oral / written communication skills.

    3) Experience cultivating or managing a corporate partnership program.

    4) Experience nurturing, and motivating volunteers and / or members, and an appreciation for their role in building an effective fundraising network.

    QUALIFICATIONS :

    1. Bachelors degree required, preferably in marketing, communications, or business management.

    2. Minimum of five years related experience with demonstrated success in generating revenue, preferably through corporate relationships.

    3. Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to network, build external relationships, and cultivate corporate partnerships.

    4. Proficiency in Customer Relations Management (CRM) software and fundraising database applications (e.g., Salesforce, Boomerang) desirable as well as competence in Microsoft Office (Word / Excel / PowerPoint).

    5. Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey the mission and goals of UBH.

    6. Excellent organizational and time-management skills with attention to detail.

    7. Ability to research and analyze corporations for propensity to collaborate with UBH.

    8. Creative, hard-working, self-motivated team player who is passionate about UBHs mission and programs.

    9. Results-oriented with an entrepreneurial mindset, actively seeks to deepen donor and volunteer relationships and forge new ones.

    10. Excellent negotiation, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

    SCOPE OF POSITION :

  • Reports to UBHs Chief Development Officer.
  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • Regular interaction with internal constituents (e.g., UBH Programs, Participants, Facilities, and Development ) as well as external constituents (e.g., current, and prospective corporate sponsors / donors, vendors and other partners) to facilitate collaboration and generate revenue to support UBH programs and services.
  • Active involvement in short-term, mid-term, and long-term planning processes related to UBH goals and objectives.
