What are the responsibilities and job description for the Environmental Sampling Technician position at URANIUM ENERGY CORP?
Position Responsibilities:
The Environmental Sampler position is responsible for a variety of duties associated with sampling monitor wells and conducting environmental inspections on a routine and timely basis. Basic duties include, but are not limited to:
Pumping and collecting water samples from monitor wells on a required schedule.
Collecting water / soil / vegetation samples on a required schedule.
Routine maintenance on all well equipment and portable generators, record keeping, and tracking sampling progress.
Conducting routine evaporation pond inspections, monthly inspections of fire extinguishers, safety showers and medical cabinets or other HSE Department duties as assigned. The position may also be called on to assist other groups if scheduled work is completed ahead of schedule.
Job Requirements:
This is an hourly paid position that involves working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
This position requires a person to be capable of routinely lifting 50 pounds.
Job training will be provided for this position.
Must be able to recognize hazardous conditions, follow company safety policies and practices and to engage in a strong safety culture.
Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Applicants must be able to pass drug and alcohol testing as a prerequisite to employment.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma and knowledge of basic construction/maintenance skills are required.
- A valid driver’s license is required Class A CDL would be a plus.
- Must have the ability to safely work independently, as well as a part of a team setting.
- Must have the ability to follow standard operating procedures.
- Basic computer skills are required.
