Summary:
The HR Benefits Specialist (HRBS) is primarily responsible for administering UAC benefits programs. With a concentration on health insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and wellness programs. The HRBS may also assist with retirement plan administration.
The HRBS will research and analyze benefit plans, policies, and programs. The HRBS will make recommendations from findings in their analysis and frequently monitor government regulation legislation and other benefit trends to ensure their programs remain current, legal, and competitive. The HRBS will assist in the design and implementation of benefits programs and will be knowledgeable about the insurance industry.

Specific Job Functions:
Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of the company's self-funded and fully insured plans.
- Collaborate with vendors and brokers to ensure the plan is cost-effective and competitive.
- Manage relationships with vendors and carriers, including the third-party administrators, stop-loss carrier, and pharmacy benefit manager.
- Monitor and analyze plan performance, including claims data, cost trends, and utilization.
- Review and submit required filings and reports, such as Form 5500 and PCORI fees.
- In partnership with the broker and leadership team, develop strategies to control healthcare costs while maintaining plan quality and satisfaction.
- Gather employee data and oversee the processing of monthly billings for all group plans.
- Document and maintain administrative procedures for assigned benefits processes.
- Assist in the review of plan documents and materials.
- Provide suggestions for continuous improvements, and work closely with the payroll dept.
- Provide timely, accurate, courteous, and appropriate responses to employees.
- Confirms provider's participation status with patient's insurance plan/network.
- Coordinate daily benefits processing, and handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, and insurance claims.
- Review and allocate insurance claims monthly and provide status reports.
- Manage data to support internal and external audit requests.
- Prepare, collect, and organize data in a timely manner.
- Work with vendor partners to develop and update feeds as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with related laws, rules, and regulations, and ensure timeliness and accuracy of required reporting and fees as needed.
- Conform to all applicable HIPAA, Billing Compliance, and safety policies and guidelines.
- Communicate with appropriate parties to verify and document claim requests.
- Responsible for all actions related to our annual open enrollment and process benefit elections.
- Run standard reports and perform ad hoc reporting as requested.
- Ensure correct pay and monitor benefit premium(s) payments for employees on FMLA/LOA.
- Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day benefits administration function.
- Partner with relationship managers in the execution of client service needs.
- Assist with human resources tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience in administrating health insurance programs (Self funded).
- Strong command of English language and good communication skills.
- Strict attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Advanced understanding of HIPAA regulations and government reporting requirements.
- Experienced with onboarding and termination procedures.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $80,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
