POSITION: Cafe Manager
REPORTS TO: General Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION
The Cafe Manager motivates, instills accountability, and achieves results to drive success in the position while maintaining our Culture of Activating Awesome! This role provides overall leadership, supervision, and direction on strategic initiatives and operating standards to positively impact our food and beverage business results.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Cultivates a team environment that provides exceptional guest service while directing the team and ensuring all staff members perform at a consistently high level.
· Assist in hiring, retention of staff, coaching, discipline; ensures execution of staff training programs.
· Works with Operations Manager to develop weekly schedules and ensure staffing levels and lead coverage is appropriate to meet the needs of the business and maximize the guest experience.
· Leads and influences staff through effective motivation, leveraging individual strengths to ensure guest satisfaction and maximum productivity.
· Responsible for ordering, inventory, and adjusting par systems based on the business needs.
· Maintain a safe, clean, and secure environment for all guests and staff in the café including the front of house, back of house, loft, patio, and seating area.
· Aligns and maintains costs of goods sold in relation to the café menu with their respective builds and portion control.
· Continuously improves operational execution through attention to detail and adherence to Urban Air operating standards and philosophies.
· Creates catering menus and pricing for special events held in the park.
· Responsible for preventative maintenance plan within the café and works with maintenance team to address issues as they occur.
· Maintain and updates all food and beverage records as required by the health department and Urban Air operating standards.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
· Experience in food and beverage hospitality is a MUST (Theme Parks, Family Entertainment Centers, Hotels, Resorts, Casinos, Stadiums, or Restaurants).
· 1 years’ supervisory or management experience required.
· Able to pass a thorough background check.
· CPR/First aid certification is preferred.
· ServSafe certification is required.
· Brand Ambassador and Culture Champion!
· Demonstrated ability in managing high volume food and beverage operations.
· Must be professional, energetic, self-motivated, able to motivate others, and have a positive attitude!
· Proficient computer skills is a must — Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
· Professional grooming and conduct must be constantly displayed to set an example for staff.
· Ability to enthusiastically interact with others.
· Adaptability, flexibility, and general enthusiasm for the business.
· Strong organizational and communication skills; ability to write and verbally communicate in a clear and concise manner.
· Willing to learn and adapt to changes or challenges.
· Ability to establish working relationships with all employees, management, and vendors.
· Exercises good judgment in decision making.
· Appreciation of diversity (thought, ethnic, gender, etc.).
