ABOUT THE POSITION:
The Learning and Development Manager reporting to the Associate Director of Learning and Development, plays a vital role in overseeing staff learning initiatives across the organization, while supporting strategic development initiatives. This position involves close collaboration with different departments to identify training needs, tailor curriculum content, and design programs that improve employee skills and performance. This roles is structured for professional growth, with the potential to transition into an Associate Director position within two years.
ABOUT THE ORGANIZATION:
The Charter Management Office(CMO is the non-profit entity that manages the Urban Dove Team Charter Schools. The CMO provides a wide range of services–including back office functions, accounting, hiring, professional development, data analysis, public relations, advocacy, and more. The CMO is also responsible for providing support structures for the schools and ensuring proper replication of the model as the organization expands.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with Associate Director of L&D (ADLD) to identify training needs and opportunities
- Collaborate with ADLD to develop and modify training and development objectives, programs and events
- Design and evaluate training materials, including presentations, workshops, handouts, online modules, and coaching cycles
- Implement various learning methods company-wide (e.g. coaching, job-shadowing, online training, in-person training)
- Using adult learning principles, guide team standards of engaging and effective learning experiences
- Provide instruction on a variety of topics, including leadership development, technical skills, and soft skills.
- Conducts follow-up studies of completed training to evaluate and measure results.
- Coordinate training session logistics including scheduling, invitations, location, reminders & follow up.
- Ensure team maintenance of accurate records of training activities and participant attendance.
- Builds and maintain relationships with third-party training providers as needed
- Exemplify and promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
- Gradually take on executive leadership support and strategic development responsibilities in preparation for the Associate Director role
Requirements
- An ethic of care and above average emotional intelligence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills and robust pedagogical toolkit
- Adept with a variety of multimedia platforms and design tools
- Strong research skills, with the ability to source, analyze and apply best practices
- Ability to design, implement and adapt within a growing organization
- Master's degree preferred in Educational Leadership, Adult Learning, Organizational Psychology, Education, Business Administration, Human Resources or other related field
- At least 3 years of experience designing and implementing employee development initiatives
- At least 3 years of experience in supervision-level school leadership

Salary : $85,000 - $100,000
