Role Description
This is a full-time geospatial specialist contract position requiring a minimum of 5 years experience using Esris ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online plus professional experience with related technologies.
Job Overview

Responsibilities
Identify and analyze FWS-wide information needs as well as needs of specific business areas for geospatial support
Support, manage, maintain enterprise geospatial systems including ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, ArcGIS Online, other file/desktop/server-based systems.
Analyze existing data needs and develop conceptual and logical solutions for geospatial and general data management scenarios. Assist data managers and end-users in identifying long and short-term geospatial data needs of the Service, define how the data is related to business processes, and participates in data modeling exercises.
Provide the ongoing project level data analysis support that produces consistent, accurate and complete data requirements and definitions following the established standards and guidelines
Assist in developing procedures and information resource management policies that ensure the integrity, consistency and control of the Services information resources
Support coordination of GIS data management activities such as metadata management, standards developing, and data quality assurance.
Support the Services geospatial training initiatives through course development, instruction of classes, and planning activities.
Has the ability to lead groups to find consensus and solutions on GIS related technology implementation, including leading teleconferences and Task Groups to achieve specific goals.
Perform Extraction, Transform, and Load (ETL) functions using Safe Softwares FME product line.
Provide content, develop automation tools, and assist with the management of the Geospatial SharePoint communication sites.
Participate in monthly/weekly/daily meetings and provide any reporting documentation to Task Manager as requested.
Response to Help Desk tickets consistent with requirements in the BPA
Provide assigned geospatial data products in industry standard formats under timelines determined by the Task Manager
Provide quality technical documentation and training materials as requested by the Task Manager
Qualifications
Demonstrate professional expertise of at least 5 years with ESRIs software suite.
Demonstrate professional experience performing work similar in scope to the Tasks listed above.
Bachelors degree or higher.
Proven experience in managing a GIS-based data system, including data curation, quality control, and quality assurance.
Demonstrated project management experience, including short-term and long-term planning, goal and policy setting, and monitoring accomplishments.
