Job description
The Youth Engagement Coordinator works onsite at Foster High School in Tukwila and focuses on re-engaging students through ABC-focused attendance, behavior, and coursework, with an emphasis on high school / GED completion, post-secondary education, and / or career paths.
This role involves connecting scholars and families to necessary services and providing activities and projects to build self-confidence, cultural identities, histories, and youth leadership.
The Youth Engagement Coordinator collaborates with schools to establish strength-based wraparound services that support scholars' success in the school environment.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES :
- 1 years’ experience working with opportunity or at-risk youth.
- Knowledge of the Seattle Public School system
- Ability to work with diverse populations (language, culture, race, physical ability, sexual orientation, etc.)
- Proven ability to build relationships and trust quickly.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Willingness and ability to maintain a flexible work schedule, when necessary, consistent with the demands of the students and schools.
- Successful candidates must have access to reliable transportation, an essential requirement for this position.
- Punctuality.
- High School Diploma; bachelor’s degree in a related or relevant field preferred.
ULMS Total Compensation
Most Benefits will take effect on the 1st of the month following a 60-day waiting period
