Urban Ministries of Wake County is hiring a Medication Assistance Program (MAP) Coordinator to improve the health of underserved residents in Wake County. About the Role
The MAP Coordinator ensures eligible patients of the Open Door Clinic (ODC) receive prescription medications through pharmaceutical companies’ donation programs. Reporting to the ODC Pharmacy Manager, this role involves patient advocacy, program coordination, and collaboration with a dedicated healthcare team.
What You’ll Do:
Coordinate Patient Assistance Programs: Stay updated on pharmaceutical patient assistance programs and their application processes.
Ensure Eligibility Compliance: Maintain knowledge of ODC eligibility policies and ensure necessary documents are collected during the eligibility process.
Collaborate Across Teams: Work with providers, pharmacy staff, and patients to complete MAP applications and secure necessary documents.
Serve as a Patient Advocate: Communicate with pharmaceutical companies, physicians, and patients to secure medications.
Maintain Data & Reporting: Use The Pharmacy Connection software to manage patient data and track application statuses. Provide regular program reports for grants and development efforts.
Support the Team: Train and supervise volunteers/interns and assist the pharmacy team as needed.
What You’ll Bring:
Education: two years of college or equivalent combination of education and experience
Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint), strong written and verbal communication, and excellent organizational abilities
Physical Requirements: Ability to walk, stand, and use standard office equipment
