Under the supervision of the Director of Outreach and Resources, the Resource Program Manager will be responsible for managing the Resource Navigator team. This will include oversight of new Mothership intakes, inquiries from youth and community partners about Urban Peak services, shelter waitlists, and referrals across Urban Peak programs. The Resource Program Manager will also directly supervisor Resource Navigators and relief staff. They will coordinate the weekly shift schedule for the Mothership, identifying and filling shift openings, and coordinating with the Manager On-Call to utilize on-call staff. This position will office part-time from Urban Peak’s front lobby, The Great Room, and at times be the first interaction people have with Urban Peak. A friendly demeanor, excitement around welcoming young people, and ability to navigate crisis is a vital part of this position. The Resource Program Manager is expected to maintain strict confidentiality with internal agency information. This position will ensure that interactions, interventions and environments at Urban Peak are trauma informed and emphasize the physical and emotional safety of youth and staff.

Duties include program and schedule administration, access control, security systems support, and resource navigation from the job duties sections.

Who You Are :

  • A Bachelor’s degree in human services or a related field and three (3) years’ related work experience and two (2) years’ supervisory experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience OR a Master’s degree in education, social work, or a related field and a minimum two (2) years’ of experiences working with youth.
  • Lived experience reflective of the youth we serve encouraged but not required.
  • Must be computer proficient and possess experience of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
  • Understanding of the provision of and commitment to trauma informed care and positive youth development.
  • Must be insurable as a driver on Urban Peak’s auto liability policy in order to conduct business on behalf of the agency or transport youth using an Urban Peak vehicle.
  • Ability to use second language in written and verbal communication desired.
  • Ability to pass both federal and state background check and a pre-employment TB screening.

What You Will Do :

The duties of this position are performed personally, in cooperation with your supervisor, and / or in coordination with other staff. Additional work functions and duties may be assigned.

Program and Schedule Administration

  • Manage the flow of the Mothership building through the Great Room. This position will manage the daily implementation of processes such as visitor / vendor check-ins, incoming / outgoing mail, intakes, data collection, etc.
  • Maintain building-wide staffing schedule, including coordinating with program managers for opening up shifts and relief staff to fill shifts. This position will serve as one of the Managers on-call and will coordinate with other on-call managers / staff to fill open shifts.
  • Oversee data quality for resource navigation program.
  • Assist with grant applications and manage grant reporting as delegated by Director of Resources and Outreach and the development team.
  • Access Control & Security Systems Support

  • Coordinate regularly with Facilities Manager and their staff on building security, access management, vendor management and facility supply orders.
  • Utilize security system and work in conjunction with Facilities Manager to ensure access to security data as needed.
  • Utilize emergency notification system for staff.
  • Support with accessing, reviewing, and analyzing recorded footage as needed and requested. Ensure footage is reviewed in a timely manner.
  • Resource Navigation

  • For designated hours each week, office from the Great Room desk and / or intake office to welcome guests, youth and community partners to the building.
  • Direct visitors, vendors, volunteers, and youth to the correct location. Coordinate and distribute building visitor credentials.
  • Complete thorough intakes in a manner that begins to establish comfort and trusting relationships.
  • Assess the level of need and intent of youth and make recommendations regarding youth’s involvement in Urban Peak. Establish plans with youth, ensure follow-through, and make appropriate referrals.
  • Connect with new youth and community partners (in person and via phone) to explain Urban Peak services and make referrals.
  • Receive, sort and distribute mail; check mail for clients when requested.
  • Supervision

  • Effectively supervise and manage direct reports and provides, by example and leadership, motivation and direction to employees of the organization.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable state and federal employment laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; recognizing and rewarding employees; corrective disciplinary procedures and practices (under direction of the Director of Resources and Outreach), addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Ensure annual employee performance reviews are conducted in a timely and effective manner. Evaluates performance of employees for compliance with established policies and objectives of the organization and contributions in attaining objectives.
  • Help set the tone of the department to ensure morale, teamwork, and that the positive employment culture of the organization is maintained.
  • Regularly schedules department and staff 1 : 1 meetings to provide leadership, development, and a forum for communication to ensure coordination and collaboration in meeting organization and individual goals.
  • Manage program and grant budgets and report monthly variances to supervisor and Director of Finance.

  • Who We Are :

    Founded in 1988, Urban Peak is the only non-profit organization in Denver that provides a full convergence of services for youth ages 15 through 24 experiencing homelessness or at imminent risk of becoming homeless. Our goal is to meet youth where they are and to provide them with the assistance and support, they need to become self-sufficient or obtain the necessary services they need to exit a life on the streets.

    Urban Peak provides numerous programs and services that are founded on the principles of trauma-informed care and Positive Youth Development to assist youth in reaching their potential and living a successful life off the streets. Services include street outreach, a 40-bed shelter for youth ages 15 through 20, a daytime drop-in center, supportive housing, education and employment services, case management, life skills courses, behavioral health evaluations, meals and more. The youth served at the shelter come from a variety of backgrounds, and we strive to be a safe community for all youth, regardless of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, class, educational background, sexual orientation, gender identity, or ability status.
