Commercial and Business Lending Intern

The URA is the City of Pittsburgh primary economic development agency. The URA Carries out many economic development activities including housing development and financing, land development, leveraging state, federal, and other financial resources to support development, commercial real estate and business financing. The Intern will support various functions of the Commercial and Business Lending department.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Director of Community Development Investments in areas of the Community Development Financial Institution, Invest PGH, Inc.
• Work with Community Investment Manager on a marketing plan for leased properties.
• Work with Quality Control Officer on data integrity in The Mortgage Office loan management software, under the direction of the Quality Control Officer.
• Assist Engagement & Operations Manager with outreach efforts.
• Assist staff with preparing writing & editing content for external & internal communications as needed.
• Work with staff across departments to support all functions of the Commercial and Business Lending office as directed.
• Perform short-term research projects as assigned related to external engagement and internal process improvement.
• Participate and contribute to internal strategic conversations regarding strengthening the Pittsburgh small business community
• Performing other duties.
  
  
  

Position Requirements and Qualifications:

• Must be an active graduate student, pursuing a degree.
• Open to all public policy, and business degrees or closely related field.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Publisher
• Familiarity with Adobe publishing
• Demonstrated academic or professional experience with business lending and/or economic development.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a team

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA
