POSITION OVERVIEW

The Intensive Case Manager is responsible for providing direct services to victims of domestic violence and gender-based violence on-site at the Family Justice Center who have complex cases and need extensive follow-up.

Salary : $50,000 -$54,000

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide essential case management services to high-risk clients or clients who have complex cases that include, but are not limited to, ongoing case management, including safety planning and risk assessment, advocacy in accessing emergency shelter, crisis intervention, court accompaniment and advocacy, law-enforcement accompaniment and advocacy, public assistance advocacy and assistance with crime victims’ compensation claims.
  • Provide short-term psychoeducational counseling to help clients mitigate their trauma, explore safety options and help clients identify goals.
  • Provide intensive support to clients in navigating the criminal justice system, social services, and other systems or services, as needed.
  • Assist FJC clients with navigating the family court system, including filing a family offense petition.
  • Provide ongoing advocacy to clients with police, prosecutors, housing, shelters, schools, public assistance, and other social services.
  • Support FJC clients with emergency practical assistance such as transportation, food vouchers, and financial assistance.
  • Partner with clients to determine appropriate referrals to onsite and offsite partners in legal services, social services, mental health services, and other related services to meet the needs of clients.
  • Provide ongoing and enhanced follow-up with clients to ensure that clients are successfully accessing and connecting with the supportive FJC services;
  • Collaborate with onsite partner agencies to streamline service provision through a client-centered lens.
  • Provide technical assistance, consultation, and opportunities for training new case managers.
  • Maintain digital records of direct services provided into the FJC Application and track additional service-related data or client needs as requested by ENDGBV; to clients and submit monthly reports.
  • Adhere to confidentiality practices and protocols.
  • Other duties as requested that enhance the mission of the FJCs as mutually agreed upon by the Program Provider and ENDGBV.

SPECIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION / CERTIFICATIONS / LICENSES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field.
  • Associate degree and at least 3-4 years of relevant work experience, preferably working with survivors of domestic and gender-based violence.
  • REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience assisting clients in obtaining public benefits such as public assistance, Medicaid, housing, SNAP, and other benefits.
  • Strong commitment to equity and social justice, including a focus on self-awareness and engagement of continuous learning around issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion; high level of Emotional Intelligence (EQ)
  • Demonstrated sensitivity and experience with and / or knowledge of domestic violence within and against disenfranchised communities, including individuals who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and / or HIV-affected, the elderly, and individuals with mental health issues.
  • Must possess a demonstrated ability in delivering client services, including communication, and listening skills, understanding of human interaction and personality development, the ability to write and record case documentation, and demonstrated skills in group counseling.
  • Strong organizational skills that reflect an ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, critical thinking, communication, and writing skills, and the ability to develop positive and productive relationships.
  • Superb and working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion, be adaptable to various competing demands, and demonstrate the highest level of customer / client service and response.
  • Must have the ability to be flexible with work schedule due to program needs.
