• Schedule A-Monday and Wednesday 6:00pm-9:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-2:00pm
• Schedule B-Tuesday and Thursday 6:00pm-9:00pm, Saturday 9:00am-2:00pm

This is what you bring:

• High school diploma or GED
• Reliable and organized with an ability to manage and schedule instruction sessions
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to work well with diverse populations
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with youth and adults of various backgrounds and cultures
• Ability to approach learning from a place of curiosity and innovation with strong customer service
• Bilingual preferred

Here's what you will do:

• Design and implement open gym and athletic skills training sessions for youth with a variety of ages and experience levels
• Provide maximum participation opportunity for all participants; differentiate instruction as needed to ensure all participants experience success
• Identify and recruit youth from Minneapolis and surrounding areas, with particular focus on Urban Ventures’ core area
• Plan and confirm gym scheduling in coordination with UV Athletics Coordinator
• Maintain control of UV’s athletics storage, equipment, and property
• Exemplify and model a growth mindset for participants’ development
• Demonstrate motivation, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for participants
• Treat all participants in developmentally-appropriate ways through a sensitive approach that clearly communicates that all participants, regardless of ability, can succeed and will benefit from a physically active, healthy lifestyle
• Actively promote and support UV’s audacious goal to prepare and send every kid from our community to some form of postsecondary education
• Adhere to agency policy, procedures and all professional code of ethics
• Other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
• Light to moderate lifting may be required
• Regular, predictable attendance is required

Travel

• Occasional travel to work functions

Expected hours: 18 – 20 per week
