What are the responsibilities and job description for the STEM Teacher (PT Summer) position at Urban Ventures?
Urban Ventures is seeking passionate individuals to join our Summer Ventures program from June 16th, 2025 – August 8th, 2025. You'll play a vital role in supporting the academic, social-emotional, and spiritual growth of young learners. Together, we'll create a transformative summer experience!
Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach hands on learning experiences
- Regularly track student learning and record data in a timely, organized fashion
- Build positive relationships with students and families including, but not limited to, regular updates regarding student progress
- Meet weekly with Summer Ventures team to reflect and collaborate
- Complete progress reports for beginning of and ending of summer for participant families
- Other duties as assigned
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Classroom Management
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Willingness to go above and beyond in forming relationships with students and families
Additional eligibility qualifications:
- Spanish Speaking preferred not required
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree related to STEM
- Experience effectively working in a multi-ethnic, multi-racial urban community
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
- Light to moderate lifting may be required
- Regular, predictable attendance is required
Work Location
- Urban Ventures Campus based at 2924 Fourth Ave South, Minneapolis
Work hours: 20 hours per week, plus field trips
- Monday through Thursday - 11:30AM - 4PM
- Friday, July 11th, 2025 - 8AM – 12PM
- Friday, August 8th, 2025 - 8AM – 4 PM
Required Training Schedule Week June 16th-June 20th
- Monday 8AM – 4PM
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 9AM – 4 PM
- Attend one or the other Tuesday or Wednesday 6PM – 8PM
Travel:
- Occasional travel to work functions
