TITLE: Accounting Clerk
LOCATION: USD #116 Central Office
SUPERVISOR: The Accounting Clerk position reports directly to the Director of Accounting as the designee of the Chief Financial Officer.
JOB SUMMARY: The responsibility of the Accounting Clerk is to perform general accounting functions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
- Reconcile bank statements
- Performs accounting data input and prepares Trust checks
- Reconcile monthly P-Card (credit card) statements by matching and verifying supporting documentation
- Research and adjust incorrect account entries and expedite encumbered purchase orders
- Sort mail for Centra Office as needed
- Provides support to the Accounts Payable Clerk
- Performs other related duties consistent with the position
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION
- Minimum of a High School Diploma or Equivalent. Associate's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE
- 2 years of bookkeeping/clerical experience
- Experience with software databases, Word, and Excel
- General knowledge of office equipment operations

- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with the public.
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding student and staff records.
- Ability to multi-task and handle interruptions.
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently with various personnel in the District.
- Ability to interact with a wide variety of people from diverse backgrounds.
- Must possess the ability to handle conflict productively.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

- This is a position not within the collective bargaining unit and is not an administrative position.
- This is a nonexempt position.
- Work days stipulated on the 12 month work calendar provided during onboarding
- Salary is commensurate with experience; $19.25- $19.65/hour
- 8 hours per day
