SUMMARY :
TheFormulation Technician is responsible for executing various processes related to cannabis extraction, formulation, and product manufacturing while ensuring compliance with state regulations, GMPs, OHSA standards, and company SOPs. This role involves operating, cleaning, and maintaining lab equipment, managing inventory, and ensuring proper product tracking and security.
Key responsibilities include conducting quality assurance testing, monitoring process conditions, and maintaining accurate batch records. The technician will also work with third-party labs for sampling and reporting, follow Consumer Goods Manufacturing Practices to prevent cross-contamination, and assist in new product development. Additionally, the role requires a commitment to improving safety, quality, and efficiency in manufacturing while performing other tasks as needed by management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates, cleans, and maintains lab equipment, performing corrective and preventative maintenance as needed.
Manages inventory of raw materials, finished products, and by-products.
Ensures compliance with product tracking, security, and movement procedures.
Prevents mixing of dissimilar components by following Consumer Goods Manufacturing Practices.
Conducts quality assurance sampling, testing, and inspections to meet company specifications, including :
- Recording and monitoring process conditions
- Proper weighing, data recording, and batch tracking.
- Executing tests on analytical equipment.
- Working with 3rd party labs for sampling and reporting.
Supports new product and process development with the Process / Product Development team.
Prepares and formulates cannabis-based products according to company SOPS and regulatory compliance.
Measures, weights, and mixes ingredients to ensure accurate formulations.
Conducts quality control checks, including potency and stability testing.
Maintains accurate records of formulations, batches, and lab results.
Assists with R&D efforts for new product formulations and improvements.
Troubleshoots formulation issues to adjust processes as needed.
Carries out assigned duties including but not limited to extraction, processing, formulation, and filling in a safe compliant manner, adhering to regulations, GMPs, OSHA regulations, company SOPs, and lab procedures.
Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge and understanding of cannabis compounds, infusion techniques, and relevant extraction methods.
Familiarity with local and state regulations governing the cannabis industry.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow strict protocols and procedures.
Good organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Must be a minimum of 21 years old per state regulations and pass a criminal background check.
