Summary Of Responsibilities
To provide group projects with construction management capabilities at a specific site level to allow Urenco safe delivery, co-ordination and high quality of all construction work. The position will provide adequate resources to support the full project lifecycle from project set up / initiation, through to project delivery stages and closure at a local site level. The Construction Oversight Manager will be responsible for the construction element of multiple strategic projects at the Eunice, NM site with a total value of approximately $4 billion.

Work Location: Eunice, NM Work Schedule: Professional work schedule/ with minimal night/ weekend support. Some nights and weekend work may be required. Employees are also subject to call-outs as needed. Travel Required: 10% of the time or less as required. Security Clearance Requirement: CAA Access and an L or Q level security clearance. Work Environment: Radiological exposure expectations of < 100 mrem/yr. Construction site. This job operates in a construction environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets etc. Responsible for the protection of confidential and proprietary information received during employment, including keeping information in strict confidence, exercising a reasonable degree of care to prevent disclosure to others, not disclosing or divulging either directly or indirectly information to others, and not using the information commercially or for any other purpose other than the performance of their duties for Urenco. - Bachelor s Degree
- 10 years of relevant experience in field construction (construction manager/construction supervisor) role may be substituted for a Bachelor degree years.
- 7 years related experience in construction or nuclear and management
- 3 years' in a leadership role,
- Bachelors degree in science, engineering, or construction
- 10 years relevant construction field experience.
- 5 years experience writing procedures
- 5 years writing work plans.
- Experience of and be skilled in managing ambiguity and being confident to take accountability for delivering their objectives.
- Demonstrable ability in building teams of highly performing professionals, communicating strategy and building a team .
- Solid knowledge of leading construction management techniques.
- Technical background in engineering.
- Extensive knowledge and cooperation with contractor, individual construction contractors, and subcontractors. Understand Construction supply markets and supply chains. Understand the relative strengths and weaknesses of contractor supply markets and have ability to leverage relationships with key members of supplier s leadership teams to Urenco s advantage.
- Proven track record in construction management that protects the owner s contractual position at all times and preventing the likelihood of claims.
- Thinks independently to offer alternative views or suggestions based on a robust understanding of the subject matter and the situation or issue.
- This job operates in an industrial, chemical and radiological plant environment. There is frequent walking, bending, standing, lifting of loads up to 50 pounds and climbing stairs throughout the plant.
- This position may require the employee to walk long distances (up to 3 miles) throughout the day, stand for periods of up to 4 hours.
- The employee must possess the physical ability necessary to perform nuclear materials work. This includes:
- The ability to wear appropriate PPE for assigned tasks.
- Manual dexterity necessary to correctly operate plant equipment.
- Visual acuity necessary to inspect plant equipment for leaks and other visible flaws.
- This role involves multiple stakeholders, and internal and external customers. The projects are larger than normal for Urenco and will attract a lot of attention from senior management. In addition, developing good working relationships with the site, regulators, contractors and critical vendors will be essential.
- Provide adequate resources to the project delivery organization to allow them to effectively carry out the successful safe delivery on Major CAPEX projects Globally.
- Develop a high performing team that strives for safety, delivery and quality.
- Actively promote a pro-active safety culture throughout the local construction team, lead by example and be a excellent role model.
- As the Urenco subject matter expert on project construction management, able to consult, advise and lead on construction management matters.
- Advises on construction activities/requirements and project strategy on project initiation.
- Cost and Schedule effects of Urenco initiated changes.
- Direct and lead managers, supervisors, engineers and skilled craftsmen in construction, schedules, testing and turnover of buildings, systems and components for multiple plant projects. Full understanding of the work planning and work management process throughout the construction cycle.
- Manage a team of individuals and direct reports in the construction process.
