Job Summary
The Front Desk is responsible for the collection, verification, and entry for all patient demographic and insurance information. The accurate and timely performance of job duties of the Front Desk directly impacts the revenue received by Urgent Care of Soldotna.
Essential Functions
Registration Desk Duties
- Greets all patients, customers, co-workers with a smile- provides exceptional customer service with each interaction
- Responsible for patient registration, ensuring accurate capture and data entry of all patients updated demographic and insurance information
- Ensure capture of all charges for services provided at Urgent Care of Soldotna.
- Operate credit card machine and cash drawer
- Ensure accurate verification of insurance and data entry into electronic registration package
- Schedule future appointments at check-out
- Scan ID and insurance cards into electronic registration package
- Hand out referral forms, intake packets, educational materials, as needed
Call Center Duties
- Answer multi-line phone
- Route calls to appropriate individuals.
- Perform reminder calls, such as, fee for service or outstanding balance, as appropriate
- Verification of insurance
- Monitor waiting room behaviors

Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED
- Associates Degree in related field, preferred
Experience
- Three years of experience as a Front Desk staff, or equivalent
- Experience and understanding of the Revenue Cycle function within an organization
- Experience in insurance verification and charge collections
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of, and experience in, Electronic Health Records with specific focus on Patient Scheduling and Registration
- Knowledge of HIPAA
License
- Valid Alaska Driver License and must remain insurable

- Ability to type 40 wpm, 10-key by touch
