URM Stores, Inc, is seeking a dynamic Internal Communications Lead to transform how we engage and connect with our employees across our corporate organization and our subsidiaries and support our broader efforts to inform. As our Internal Communications Lead, you’ll play a vital role in thoughtfully shaping engaging messages for our employees that inform, educate, and inspire. From health benefits and employee activities to new policies and change initiatives, your contributions will help ensure employees feel connected, informed, and valued. You will measure the effectiveness of the communication initiatives and be able to suggest any needed adjustments. Additionally, you’ll support brand consistency across customer-facing communication materials, assist with employee activities, and be an ambassador to employees on behalf of our HR teams across the organization.

For that reason, this position is fully onsite and not eligible for a remote work schedule. What You’ll Do…
- Working closely with our HR and Training team, you will be a trusted partner to develop and launch impactful employee communications across channels like monitors, newsletters, and our internal HRIS platform- Paylocity.
- Manage content and tailor communication strategies to meet the needs of various internal audiences, maximizing engagement and impact while ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality.
- Build and maintain cross functional relationships in order to successfully execute communication plans.
- Identify any communication gaps, then create and distribute content that promotes organizational initiatives, increases employee engagement, and bridges the identified communication gaps.
- Provide strategic communication support and guidance to leadership on internal messaging.
- Measure the effectiveness of launched communication initiatives by tracking the outcomes and feedback, and then recommending any adjustments needed to ensure the goal is obtained of the communication.
- Plan, oversee, and execute communication initiatives related to organizational changes, employee feedback surveys, intranet content, customer portal branding, write articles, and collaborate with departments on their intranet requests.
- Other projects and responsibilities as assigned.
What You’ll Bring…
- Education & Experience: A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, communications, marketing, business, or a related field is preferred (or eight years relevant and progressive experience may substitute for a bachelor’s degree), plus minimum of two years in a role where employee communications was a significant part of your responsibilities. (Skills will be assessed for those candidates selected for the interview process).
- Skills: Strong writing, editing, and proofreading abilities with excellent grammar and composition skills. (Skills will be assessed for those candidates selected for the interview process).
- Technology Proficiency: Working knowledge with Microsoft Suite including SharePoint, photography, Adobe Photoshop and/or Illustrator, and graphic design tools like Venngage or Canva is preferred. (Examples of work will be requested for those candidates selected for interviews).
- People Skills: Ability to collaborate effectively and respectfully with individuals across all organizational departments, adapt to different perspectives, and communicate effectively in small and large groups.
- Detail-Oriented Approach: Exceptional organizational skills with an eye for detail to ensure high-quality work and eye-catching communication materials. (Examples of work will be requested for those candidates selected for interviews).
- Technical Aptitude: Willingness to learn and master new software or hardware as needed.
- Resilience and Self-Regulation: Ability to navigate challenges with composure and problem-solving skills.
