Duties

  • Develop policy for military personnel program areas. Oversee the development, coordination, and evaluation of an effective, integrated military HR management program.
  • Manage officer and enlisted strength management, personnel readiness, retention, evaluations, personnel actions, evaluation, awards and decorations, benefits, leaves and passes, and information management systems military HR programs.
  • Serve as Command subject matter expert; plan, direct and execute short and long term missions and programs to facilitate achievement of mission goals and objectives based on new or revised legislation and/or DOD/Department of Army/Command directives.
  • Act as the focal point for command military personnel aspects of unit readiness. Principal technical reviewer of officer and enlisted personnel actions.
  • Provide comprehensive and direct advice and guidance on all areas of military human resource management (HRM) regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for implementation of standardized Army evaluation processes and systems across the command. Oversee the timeliness and input of information in both officer and noncommissioned officer evaluations using the Evaluation Entry System (EES).
  • Supervise a team of civilian and military personnel. Perform the full range of administrative and technical supervisory and managerial functions.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.

To qualify, applicants must have one year or more of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade/level. Specialized experience is defined as experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of military personnel human resources program administration as demonstrated by performance of all of the following: (1) providing technical advice and guidance on a wide variety of military HR programs; (2) reviewing and interpreting regulations, directives, and reports pertinent to military personnel functions in order to formulate and recommend military personnel policies; and, (3) preparing and presenting reports and briefings on military HR administrative actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).
