What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cost Accountant position at US Cargo Systems?

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements; therefore, a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes a US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee. Summary of Position:
The Cost Accountant will provide financial, administrative, and data support to the US Cargo Systems team. The position is responsible for reviewing Sales information, performing bridges and analysis, reviewing associated product cost and inventory transactions, and helping to explain variances to those costs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain daily sales tracking file and update associated bridges and commentary
- Provide an executive summary of monthly sales and associated costs, gross margin, and EBITDA
- Review production transactions and investigate production cost variances
- Work with Manufacturing Engineers to update bills of material and routers as appropriate
- Work with Purchasing to update standard costs and project cost variances and savings
- Review inventory data and prepare quarterly excess and obsolete inventory reserves
- Review cycle counting transactions and track past due counts and program accuracy and completeness
- Respond to audit requests associated with Sales and inventory
- Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations
- Assist with ERP implementation and upgrades
- All other duties as assigned
