What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Assistant position at US Cotton?
- Responsible for performing a variety of human resource support duties. This position assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties. The Human Resources Assistant carries out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: Time and Attendance, Staffing, Training, Benefits, and Employee Relations and Events.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Examples of key duties are interpreted as being descriptive and not restrictive in nature.
- Create reports in ADP for assistance with maintaining accurate attendance, leave of absence and vacation records as well as the accurate accumulation of attendance points in accordance with Company Attendance Policy.
- Act as the main contact for employees and management for the salary and hourly populations' records of attendance.
- Create and distribute Corrective Action documents concerning attendance. Track all signed and returned documents. Research any Corrective Action document not returned in a timely manner.
- Administration of the Perfect Attendance program, including determining eligible participants, creating lists and preparing for drawings, tracking winners, etc.
- Other Responsibilities
- 4.5.1 Administer the application process
- 4.5.2 Distribute applications and ensures proper completion.
- 4.5.3 Administer math and mechanical aptitude tests.
- 4.5.4 Schedule interviews for general hourly and maintenance positions.
- 4.5.5 Coordinate and schedule all pre-employment drug tests and hearing tests.
- 4.5.6 Enter all pre-employment background checks through EmployeeScreen IQ.
- 4.5.7 Track applicant flow for most hourly positions; inputting all data;
- 4.5.8 Prepare all rejection letters as directed by HR Representatives or HR Manager.
- 4.5.9 Verify that all new hires all eligible to work in the US through the E-Verify system.
- 4.5.10 Maintain badge assignments through the issuing of new employee badges, vendor and visitor badges, and replacement badges for current employees.
- 4.5.11 Assisting with employee file maintenance.
- 4.5.12 Update bulletin boards
- 4.5.13 Videos during orientation
- 4.5.14 Assist with the preparation for employee events (Employee Appreciation Picnic, Christmas Parties, etc.)
- 4.5.15 Cover HR office during vacations
- 4.5.16 Answer door phone
- 4.5.17 Assisting with special projects as necessary
EXPERIENCE
- 2-3 years experience in Administrative work. Previous HR experience is a plus.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma required. Associates Degree preferred.
SKILLS
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.

SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE
- Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet, and Lotus Notes. Experience with Kronos and Lawson reporting
