We have an immediate opening for a Part-time Endocrine Laboratory Technician in our busy Towson, MD Endocrine Laboratory. The schedule is working every other Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 am -3:00pm. Weekday availability is required for training. Once trained, the position will be weekends only. Pay range $23-$27.

How You'll Contribute:

We always do whatever it takes, even if it isn’t specifically our “job.” In general, the Endocrine Lab Technician is responsible for:

• Performs quality controls, calibration and instrument preventive maintenance checks at the required frequency and documents such actions.
• Checks and records daily temperature of refrigerators to ensure proper storage of media reagents.
• Monitors supply of reagents and other material to ensure adequate supply at all times and orders supplies when necessary.
• Take appropriate safety precautions for handling specimen and contaminated areas.
• Performs all clerical tasks associated with recording laboratory results in designated areas and filing.
• Provide a turnaround time to the physicians approximate two hour request from the time specimens are received.
• Reliability: It is an essential function of this position to report to work on time for your scheduled hours, ready for work.
  
  
  

What You'll Bring:

The skills and education we need are:

• Minimum of one year laboratory experience
• Experience in a chemistry analyzer strongly preferred
• Bachelors' degree in biology science or related field; MLT ASCP certification or equivalent
• Ability to troubleshoot assays and equipment
