The Decision Scientist guides business decisions through sharing of insights with the business. In this role, you will translate research into usable data products and sustainable solutions. You will perform decision modeling of critical business decisions to maximize business value. Your analytical skills will be utilized to explore and synthesize data, including some statistical work. Through usage of common predictive analysis models, your visual and data storytelling skills will be utilized to communicate effectively with business stakeholders and improve their decision-making capability. RESPONSIBILITIES As a Decision Scientist, you will be expected to: • Data Preparation: Extract and synthesize data from multiple sources; perform exploratory data analysis, cleanse, massage, and aggregate data • Data Visualization: Develop visualization and presentation paradigms to communicate discoveries • Business Understanding: Demonstrate strong understanding of business processes and community • Insights Operationalization: Influence insights operationalization methodology to drive favorable business results; responsible for model and rule performance based on business KPIs • Analytics Evangelism: Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for analytics initiatives and influence approaches • Standards and Best Practices: Adhere to best practices in decision science, as directed by manager • Perform other duties as assigned by your manager RELATIONSHIPS • Internal: Frontline associates & managers within Insights & Analytics as well as in other orgs requesting data (e.g., Supply Chain, Sales). • External: N/A WORK ENVIRONMENT • Inside office • Internal Associate facing • Up to 10% travel, as determined by business need MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS As a Decision Scientist, you have: • A Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering, eCommerce, psychology, quantitative social science, or similar discipline • Three years of experience in research, statistics, experimental design, synthesizing, implementing, and deploying models • Skilled experience with Microsoft Office, including Excel and PowerPoint • Proficiency with SQL and Python • Knowledge of statistics utilizing descriptive, inferential and regression-based approaches • Experience with several data visualization tools, including Tableau and Sigma • Ability to complete daily decision science tasks with minimal supervision • Experience collaborating with business stakeholders to identify and influence opportunities for analytics initiatives • Ability to understand business processes and communicate effectively with business stakeholders Certifications/Training • N/A Licenses • N/A The following information is provided in accordance with certain state and local laws. Compensation depends on experience, geographic locations, and other factors permitted by law. In Colorado, the expected compensation for this role is between $83,400.00 and $111,200.00. In New York City, the expected compensation for this role is between $92,800.00 to $123,800.00. In California and Washington, the expected compensation for this role is between $88,200.00 and $117,600.00. This role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan bonus.
