What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Coder position at US Heart and Vascular?
Us Heart and Vascular is in need of a Remote Medical Coder to join our USHV team.
Responsibilities :
- Codes and enters peripheral and cardiology diagnostic and interventional procedures, Cardiothoracic, and Vascular surgery and Hospital Charges
- Audits medical record documentation to determine accuracy of coded and billed services, including reviews of documentation to establish compliance with physician / NP billing rules
- Responds to government and commercial insurance requested audits
- Informs supervisors / management of issues or concerns identified with coding and billing practices
- Responds to coding and billing questions from physicians, administration, clinical, and AR staff
- Corrects billing records with inconsistent information and / or containing discrepancies
- Provides feedback and education to physician and professional staff regarding changes in coding methodology
- Maintains effective and cooperative communication with providers, administrative and AR staff
- Organizes and participates with the annual physician E&M audits
- Maintains the CPT procedure code and ICD-10 code data base
- Attends meeting, travel to other sites may be necessary
- Performs other duties as assigned or required
