What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scribe position at US Heart & Vascular?
Responsibilities:
- Prepares and assembles medical record documentation/charts for physician/allied health provider(s).
- Enters the patient room with the provider during patient visit to capture and transcribe medical record documentation utilizing electronic medical record applications.
- Updates patient history, including history of present illness, review of systems, past medical and surgical histories, family and social histories, medications and allergies.
- Documents physical examination findings and procedures as performed by the provider.
- Document test results as dictated by the provider.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of cardiology terminology, procedures, and practices is highly preferred.
- Excellent computer and typing abilities.
- Proficient in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems, medical billing, and coding practices.
