Job Overview
This position is part of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC), Office of Administration (OA), Corporate Administrative Services (CAS) Division. As a Records and Information Management Specialist, you will serve as a technical expert in the maintenance, preservation, and disposal of official Federal records held or created by the Corporation.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical expertise and leadership to the Agency's Records Management Program in the maintenance, preservation, and disposition of official Federal records held or created by the Agency.
- Classifies recorded material, oversees retrieval of records stored in Federal Records Centers, and maintains the inventories of records transferred to the National Archives and Records Administration.
- Ensures compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements related to Controlled Unclassified Information.
- Serves as the Corporation liaison with other Government agencies and vendors on matters of records management and represents the Corporation's interests on records management interagency work groups.
- Conducts inventories and inspections of decentralized agency files held in operating offices to ensure compliance with official records management policies and procedures.
- Plans, conducts, and implements periodic program inventories, reviews, inspections, and audits of decentralized files.
- Develops policies, procedures, and guidance in managing the Agency's information.
- Monitors applicable laws, notices, regulations and legal decisions in the records area and develops adjustments to agency directives to ensure agency compliance.
- Develops and presents briefings and records management awareness communications to inform all levels of agency employees of their recordkeeping responsibilities.
- Utilizes a Content Management System to create, manage, and modify program information.
- Serves as Contracting Officer's Representative (COR).
Skills
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency in document management systems, particularly iManage or similar platforms.
- Knowledge of compliance management practices related to records retention and information governance.
- Experience in archival processing techniques to manage historical documents effectively.
- Ability to develop and implement effective taxonomy structures for record organization.
- Familiarity with digitization processes for converting physical documents into electronic formats.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with team members and stakeholders.
