Job Title: Plant 2nd Shift Lead
Reports To: Plant Manager
Position Summary: Responsible for assisting with overseeing production plans, employees, and scheduling. Ensure the production process is flowing smoothly, accurately and timely to meet the Company’s profitability and the customer’s needs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
· Supervise all 2nd shift production operations.
· Provide support to the Plant Manager in all aspects of operations specifically for safety, quality and production.
· Plan, schedule, and coordinate shift activities to fulfill safety needs sales orders, meet inventory requirements, and deliver manufactured products in a timely fashion.
· Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
· Both supervise and perform minor to moderate equipment repairs and changeovers.
· Assist with supervising and managing production staff to include: scheduling, performance management, progressive discipline, attendance tracking, safety awareness, and employee development.
· Ensure all daily shift documents are completed as required per policy.
· All safety and PPE products will be provided as needed and are to be utilized in the work areas when required.
· Perform additional duties as needed.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 2 years in a lead role, preferably in a related setting - mining or sand industry.
· Possess the technical and supervisory skills required to effectively administer and oversee the production process.
· Some industrial maintenance experience required. Experience with rotary dryers, crushers, screens, bucket elevators, and conveyor belts.
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Good team leadership, mechanical ability, as well as written and verbal communication skills.
Qualifications:
· In-depth knowledge of all manufacturing methods and techniques.
· Must have experience with production scheduling and plant operations.
· Must be highly organized, self-motivated with a can-do attitude and the ability to work independently.
· Must be able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize and easily adapt to changing situations.
· Computer proficiency.
Environmental Health and Safety Responsibilities:
· Maintain site and personnel compliance with all OSHA and EPA regulations. Become familiar with US Minerals Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) policies and procedures.
· Immediately report all ES&H incidents (injuries, near misses, releases).
· Complete all required ES&H training in a timely fashion.
· Follow all US Minerals facility and corporate ES&H procedures and practices.
· Attend and actively participate in facility ES&H meetings and forums that will drive employee involvement.
· Provide feedback and suggestions for ES&H program improvement.
· Participate in job safety analysis activities.

Pay: $27.00 - $30.00 per hour
