Role Overview
The Warehouse Shipping and Receiving Coordinator primary responsibility is to receive, store, and distribute material and products within the Warehouse. This person clerk is also responsible for ensuring that all shipping documents are completed accurately and in a timely fashion in conjunction with other assigned office functions.
Areas of Responsibility
- Follow batch records, SOP’s, and cGMP's guidelines to ensure product specifications and tolerances are met.
- Ensures full compliance with Company policies, procedures, GMP’s, Ethical Business Practice, and SOP’s at all times. Ensures documentation such as operation logs, batch records, etc. are fully completed, signed and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders, COA, Bill of Lading, packing slips.
- Communicate with the supply chain and QA department if orders are incorrect
- Prepare products to be shipped out, verify labels, generate packing slip and bill of lading
- Reading customer orders, work orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed and/or shipped.
- Systematically verifying all P.O.’s are completed and received during and by the end of work day.
- Answering phone calls relating to checker P.O.’s and other various receiving related circumstances.
- Reporting any and all issues to management and Department Lead to be re-verified i.e. P.O. discrepancies, systematic discrepancies etc.
- Moving materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
- Sorting and placing materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Filling requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials or other stock items and distributes items to shipping or to designated route driver storage area.
- Work with carriers to obtain freight quotes on shipping outgoing product
- Ensuring warehouse is accessible and safe for associates and customer traffic.
- Assembling customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves, or relocating orders to a holding area or shipping department.
- Marking materials with identifying information using appropriate method.
- Recording amounts of materials or items received or distributed via SAP, Excel or Word
- Assisting in counting of physical inventory.
- Weighing and counting items for distribution within plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
- May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
- Completing requisition forms to order supplies from other departments.
- Preparing parcels for mailing.
- Sweeping, dusting, and mopping.
- Organizing warehouse and work area for orderliness at all times.
- Fill in appropriate logbooks for equipment and rooms.
- Perform all material handling of products and components.
- Correctly document all steps on batch record.
- Maintain proper gowning and hygiene to ensure integrity of the product as per company policies.
- Works extended hours and occasional weekend overtime.
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Education & Qualification:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- 2 years in warehouse environment (shipping & receiving)
- Minimum of two (2) year’s work experience in nutritionals, supplements, food or pharmaceutical manufacturing industries preferred
Certifications, Licenses, Credentials:
- Valid truck driving license and no recent moving or driving violations
- Must pass forklift certification process (both written and driving tests)
Skills & Ability
- Demonstrates ability to work in a team and assist others.
- Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail required.
- Basic computer skills preferred – MS Office
- Able to follow written instructions precisely and perform basic math calculations as required.
- Understands and is knowledgeable of cGMP, OSHA standards etc.
- Mechanically inclined to understand inner workings of equipment.
- Demonstrates the ability to read and write basic English in order to be able to understand the industry regulated instruction sheets.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Strong organizational skills and an attention to detail required.
- Basic computer skills preferred – MS Office
Physical Requirements (lifting, etc.):
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.; occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds.
- Must stand and walk on the production floor for a minimum of 6 hours per shift
- Uses hands to finger, handle, feel, or operate objects or controls, lifting to waist height and/or above shoulder height, frequent bending from the waist, or squatting, walking short distances.
- Occasionally works from a rolling ladder or step stool, must be to lean over equipment as well as kneeling on the floor to clean under the equipment.
- Must be able to wear all PPE including a lab coat, face mask, booties, gloves, safety glasses/goggles, and respirators.
Work Environment (Office, Warehouse, temperature extremes, etc.):
- Work is regularly performed inside a manufacturing environment where temperatures can be moderate, exposure to dust, odors, noise, and fumes. The noise level is usually moderate. Employees can be exposed daily to chemicals and cleaning agents.
