Shift: Rotating 8-hour shifts between 7 AM – 7:30 PM (Mon-Fri)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a Licensed Retail Pharmacist with 4-7 years of experience to join our team. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in retail pharmacy and be comfortable working on their feet all day. The role involves reviewing prescriptions, directing pharmacy workers, maintaining quality assurance, and handling data entry for pharmacy files. Candidates must be licensed in Illinois.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review prescriptions issued by physicians or authorized prescribers for accuracy.
- Determine formulas and ingredients needed for medications.
- Direct pharmacy workers in mixing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Provide information to customers on drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and storage of pharmaceuticals.
- Maintain procedures concerning quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and disposal of hazardous waste drugs.
- Enter data such as patient name, prescribed medication, and cost to maintain pharmacy files, charge systems, and inventory.
- Assay medications to determine identity, purity, and strength.
- Instruct interns and other medical personnel on pharmacy-related matters.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Licensed Pharmacist in Illinois.
- 4-7 years of retail pharmacy experience.
- Strong multitasking and communication skills.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently.
Preferred Experience:
- Candidates with mail-order or industrial pharmacy experience handling high-volume orders are also considered.
