Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Tower Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of telecommunications towers. This role requires a strong understanding of various technologies including 5G, 4G/LTE, and 3G systems. The Tower Technician will work both independently and as part of a team to ensure that all tower operations are performed safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Install and maintain telecommunications equipment on towers, including antennas and related hardware.
- Perform fiber splicing to ensure optimal signal transmission.
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of high voltage systems.
- Rig and weld components as necessary to support tower structures.
- Operate bucket trucks safely for access to elevated work areas.
- Provide field service support for telecommunications installations and repairs.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Document all work performed and maintain accurate records of service activities.
Skills
- Proficient in rigging techniques and welding practices.
- Experience with fiber splicing techniques for telecommunications applications.
- Knowledge of high voltage systems and safety protocols.
- Familiarity with 5G, 4G/LTE, and 3G technologies is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate bucket trucks and other aerial work platforms safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues in the field.
