How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

Conduct thorough analyses of product documentation to accurately determine country of origin. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate reporting and adherence to trade regulations. Research and interpret relevant laws, regulations, and trade agreements affecting country of origin determinations.

The Trade Compliance Specialist is primarily responsible for ensuring a company's import and export activities adhere to all applicable international trade regulations, including monitoring changing laws, tariffs, and sanctions, reviewing export documentation, conducting restricted party screenings, and providing internal training to minimize the risk of penalties and compliance issues.

• Monitoring regulatory landscape:

  Staying updated on evolving trade regulations, tariffs, and sanctions imposed by different countries. 
• Document review and classification:

  Examining export and import documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations, including proper Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications. 
• Restricted party screening:

  Checking potential business partners against sanctioned entity lists to prevent prohibited transactions. 
• Compliance training:

  Providing internal training to employees involved in international trade on trade compliance procedures and regulations. 
• Internal consulting:

  Acting as a subject matter expert, advising different departments within the company on trade compliance matters. 
• Government agency communication:

  Interacting with customs authorities and other relevant government agencies to address compliance concerns and obtain necessary permits. 
• Risk assessment and mitigation:

  Identifying potential trade compliance risks and developing strategies to minimize them. 
• Compliance audits and investigations:

  Conducting periodic reviews of trade compliance processes to identify areas for improvement and investigate potential violations. 
• Free trade agreement (FTA) management:

  Assisting with the utilization of FTA benefits by reviewing eligibility requirements and preparing necessary documentation. 
• Reporting and recordkeeping:

  Maintaining accurate records of trade activities and generating reports to demonstrate compliance with regulations.
