JOB DESCRIPTION
As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will be a team member helping to build a highly scalable, best-in-class accounting department. This role will be responsible for best-in-class accounting policies and procedures that are needed to run a high-quality business day to day. This role will be based in East Granby or Middletown, CT.
Job Responsibilities
Working directly with the local controller and the finance team, you will play a key role in establishing and executing financial and accounting operations. Job responsibilities include:
- Perform daily entry of vendor invoices.
- Daily enter exempt purchase in tracker.
- Complete resale certs and tax exemptions certificates.
- Build payment files for review.
- Print Checks.
- Complete vendor statements upon receiving.
- Reconcile and book all credit card statements.
- Review on a weekly basis pending receipts listings.
- Clean up pending receipts on a weekly basis.
- Complete new vendor credit applications.
- Back up for Accounts Receivable with new accounts establishments.
- Back up for AIA process billings/lien waivers.
- Back up for entering new vendors into our accounting system Sage.
- Other duties as needed.

Must Have:
- High School diploma and specific job-related experience.
- 2 years of hands-on accounting experience.
- Proficient computer skills and use of platforms, business systems, Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Zoom and shared cloud-based drives.

- Strong ability to communicate accounting and financial information into common language.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, attention to detail and teamwork.
