What are the responsibilities and job description for the Event Operations Intern position at USA Softball of West Virginia?
REPORTS TO : Commissioner / Director and National Office Communications Manager
DURATION : Spring, Summer, Fall, and Winter
LOCATION : Hybrid (Remote work outside of events, on site for events.)
PURPOSE OF POSITION : Supports the event operations and logistics needs within the local association. The intern works closely with the local association leadership and is responsible for coordinating games and tournaments. This internship offers experience in a professional workplace and is an ideal training environment for the marketing / professional sports industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with facilities and / or parks and recreation departments to ensure all public areas are prepped and ready for the event.
- Communicate compliance requirements to all adult and minor participants, pursuant to the SafeSport Code.
- Ensure compliance with facility rules, safety protocols, and operational procedures to maintain a secure and efficient environment.
- Support event preparation, including field set-up, registration, signage installation, and game day logistics.
- Contribute to the operation of other USA Softball events and programs.
- Communicate regularly with local association staff and interns in preparation for the events.
- Provide excellent customer service to members to address inquiries and ensure a positive experience.
- Assist with other tasks as directed by the Local Association Commissioner or Working Director.
- Assist in updating records, schedules, participant information, and feedback using computer software and databases.
- Maintain good attendance and punctuality.

This internship is unpaid and open to undergraduate and graduate students.
