ZAMA Group is a well-known supplier in forestry and landscaping equipment industry worldwide. The Applications Engineer position will be a key part of shaping ZAMA's future direction.
In this role, the candidate is responsible for the day-to-day tasks in the engineering department. This includes engine testing, data analysis and interpretation, and maintaining process documents. The candidate needs to be well organized and attentive to fine details to be able to handle multiple complex projects at the same time. They will provide support for test and measurement equipment design & setup to help find cost savings with design improvements. Additionally, they will prepare TCNs and drawings for filing. They will also assist with internal and external audits and annual physical inventory. Willingness to learn and adapt is essential to keep up with the fast-changing business environment. A successful engineer will ensure that the daily engineering functions run accurately and effectively while supporting all departments in a fast paced, small office setting of USA ZAMA.
Responsibilities
- Brainstorming, new product design, and iterative design improvement
- Engine testing, developing test plan
- Customer communication/support
- FMEAs and other risk analysis
- Assist on communication with factories on: RFQs, TCNs, PFS (Production Feasibility Study)
- Pilot process, new part evaluation (NPE) process, PPAPs, ISIRs, etc.
- Participate in external and internal audits
Qualifications
- Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree with 5 years minimum experience
- Hands-on experience in practical engineering, system design, and testing
- Hands-on & proficient experience with spreadsheets
- Familiarity with 3D design and technical drawings creation
- Advanced knowledge and experience in MS Office, specifically MS Excel skills
- Well organized multitasker with accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to read, interpret, understand, and apply engineering & technical specifications, policies, standards, and procedures
- Excellent multitasking skills and a keen eye for detail
Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
