Position Summary:
USC Builds is looking for a skilled and driven Field Superintendent to manage and oversee construction projects from start to finish. In this role, you will supervise on-site operations, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. You will coordinate with project teams, contractors, and clients to maintain high-quality standards and efficient workflows. This position plays a key role in the success of our projects and supports our commitment to delivering exceptional results in the construction industry.
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Determining a project’s needs in collaboration with various stakeholders [e.g., architects, owners, engineers, inspection agencies, code officials, subcontractors, suppliers/vendors, etc.]
  • Strong interpersonal skills [demonstrating self-awareness, empathy, diplomacy, listening, networking, the ability to read body language, team building, respect and inclusiveness]
  • Commitment to quality standards
  • Positive and proactive communication philosophy when engaging with all stakeholders
  • Takes initiative and knows how and when to delegate
  • Ability to think strategically to solve problems, yet also pays attention to nuanced details
  • Holds others accountable to project schedule, quality, job site cleanliness and safe work practices
  • Ability to manage subcontractor and USC Builds’ self-perform scopes
  • Tracking and progress reporting
  • Equipment and tool management
  • Material ordering as needed
  • Giving subcontractors constructive feedback
  • Handling job site emergencies or conflicts while working well under pressure
  • Coordinating with USC Builds internal project teams to see the project is completed safely, on time and on budget
  • Other duties as assigned 
 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience leading in the role and a proven understanding of construction documents, including general, architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and plumbing plans; specifications; submittals; ASIs; RFIs; as-built plans
  • Project experience using Procore, On-Screen Takeoff, Quick Bid, Microsoft Project and other similar technology platforms are a plus
  • Knowledge of all technical construction aspects of the project, particularly to limit unforeseen impacts and overlap of scopes among various skilled trades
  • Strong communication skills—in person, telephone, email
  • Willingness to learn new skills—technology, process, tools

Compensation: 
  • Annual salary range: $95,000—$120,000 (commensurate with experience)
