The Marshall University Center for Business and Economic Research’s ( CBER ) is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director. CBER is committed to leadership in regional economic development by conducting pertinent, high-quality, and objective research. It accomplishes its mission through service to the University; fostering regional economic development efforts; supporting private and public sector constituencies; and disseminating information, research findings, and data. Duties The Director is responsible for efficiently administering program activities consistent with the mission of the Center and Marshall University to ensure that CBER’s research contributes to sustainable economic growth. Specific duties include, but are limited to, the following: Guiding Center staff with primary responsibility for the oversight of the Center’s financial, personnel, and administrative operations. Leading staff in obtaining external, competitively funded research and/or other external program support. Conducting applied research, outreach, and business development activities consistent with the mission of Marshall University and the Center. Establishing and maintaining relationships with West Virginia State legislative committees, executive agencies, business and professional groups and other University entities and offices. Ensuring that CBER staff members are supported in their efforts to provide excellent and responsive research results to the stakeholders throughout the region.
