What are the responsibilities and job description for the Admission Advisor position at USC?
The USC Alfred E. Mann School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences has an immediate opening for an Admission Advisor (Student Services I). The position will be the first point of contact with potential and current students by managing the admission office emails and phone for the Office of Enrollment and Student Affairs. The Admission Advisor will be supporting our admission process and interview days as needed. The ideal candidate must demonstrate the ability to work independently and as a member of a team, have strong inter-personal skills, strong organization skills and attention to detail.
Position summary:
- Manage the Admissions Office phone line with support from other team members as needed.
- Manage the Admissions Office email, ensuring emails are responded to in a timely manner and forwarded to the proper individual as needed.
- Provide applicants instructions by phone, email, and in-person as it relates to the admission process, admission policies and procedures.
- Evaluates and offers solutions to applicant problems and requests regarding admission.
- Support the admissions committee in making admission decisions for graduate programs in accordance with admission guidelines.
- Communicate in person, by telephone and in writing with domestic and international applicants about status of admission applications.
- Assist the Admissions Department with other related tasks.
- Work closely with the Associate Director of Admission as it relates to all aspects of PharmCAS and WebAdmit; our admission application systems.
- Work closely with the Associate Director of Admission as it relates to the admission process and interview days for applicants, specifically for the PhamD program.
- Evaluate applications and all materials submitted by prospective students to the PharmD program, working closely with other members of the team.
- Ensure all transcripts are sent to the university, whether electronic or a hard copy, all transcripts must be emailed to the university admission office and degree completion office for storage.
- Assist members of the recruitment team as needed for virtual and in-person recruitment events.
- Work closely with the Director of Enrollment Management with tracking expenses and budgeting for the Office of Enrollment and Students Affairs.
- Manage expenses, receipts, and the submission of expense reports to the business office, working closely with them to ensure all admission related expenses are accounted for throughout the admission cycle.
- Manage office supplies, order materials as needed working closely with team members of the Office of Enrollment and Student Affairs.
- Ensure the mail is checked daily for the Office of Enrollment and Student Affairs.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Strong customer service experience preferred.
- Strong communication skills preferred.
- Strong technology background preferred.
- PharmCAS and WebAdmit experience a plus.

The hourly rate range for this position is $29.00 - $32.26.
