Must know and observe all plant safety rules.

Will also perform any clean-up or other duties as assigned by the CoGen Supervisor.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications of this position are as follows:

• Continuous process operator experience
• DCS experience
• Experience with rigorous safety programs
• Environmental compliance experience
• Mechanical aptitude
• Ability to lift 25 pounds

Primary Function:

This position is responsible for meeting the basic requirements to be successfully trained to perform all operator duties without direct supervision. The equipment includes the following:

• Heat Recovery Steam Generators
• Hot lime softener, anthracite filter and sodium zeolite water softening system
• Auxiliary diesel generator
• 480 V motor control centers
• High voltage (13.8 KV) transformer and distribution system
• Compressed air system
• Various auxiliary systems

Basic Requirements:

• 
  Must be able to perform this job safely.
• Operators will work rotating shifts covering 24 hours per day, 7 days per week.
• It is the responsibility of each employee to utilize good housekeeping practices
• Must be willing to work day shift, night shift, and back fill on shift for vacations or vacancies. Must be willing to work as plant fire watch during plant down periods, including Holidays. Overtime as required.
• Successful candidates must have the ability to work in teams as well as working alone. Good communication skills both written and verbal are a necessity.

Job Requirements and Procedures:

• Must meet basic requirements to be successfully trained

o Able to take direction from others and give input to provide efficient operations.

o Able to progress to higher levels of operator status.

o Able to take responsibly for operating a Cogeneration facility

• Must successfully complete operator job competency checklist.
• Assist in boiler and fire system inspections and operations.
• Ability to perform preventive maintenance work including minor repairs of equipment (displaying mechanical aptitude).

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
