Capability Transformation Overview:

The digital services are based on to be improved data and process models and will be provided for all our customers in the US, Canada, and LATAM.

Position Overview:

As the Product Owner of our PIM (Product Information Management) System, you will prioritize the development of features that enable syndication of product information across our digital ecosystem of websites, tools, and external partners. The Product Owner owns the process to ensure product related content is comprehensive, accurate and compelling.

USG offers a hybrid workplace. The office location is Chicago, IL. Minimal travel may be required.

The Team:

The Product Data and Information Publishing / PIM team ensures consistent, relevant product information creation, storage and publication in systems and finally on the website across the relevant entities in the US, Canada and LATAM. The team works in an agile environment, guided by a Product Owner and a Tech Lead. Each member of the team has a specific role to play, but they all share a common goal of delivering industry-leading digital solutions to our customers.

The Product Data and Information Publishing / PIM team is effective because of its ability to work collaboratively and take ownership of its deliverables. It operates within a product-platform model that emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and end-to-end ownership of deliverables. This model leverages the diverse skill sets of team members and fosters innovation, agility, and accountability.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define and prioritize features: Lead the development and prioritization of key features related to product information, including search, product list pages, and product detail pages
• Team leadership: Lead a cross-functional team, creating a shared understanding of the product roadmap and its dependencies to ensure the successful release of product information features
• Product artifacts and measurement: Manage product backlog, develop release plans, and track team level metrics. Set, measure, and achieve progress towards Objectives & Key Results (OKRs)
• Content management: Ensure that all product-related content is comprehensive, accurate, and compelling
• Continuous improvement: Continuously monitor and refine product information to enhance customer experience and drive purchase decisions
• Customer focus: Utilize customer feedback and analytics to inform feature development and content improvements
• Data governance: Advocate for and implement data governance policies to maintain the integrity of the Product Information Management (PIM) system

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Information Systems, or a related field

Required Skills:

• 5 years of experience in a product management role
• Deep understanding of Product Information Management systems and best practices (e.g., managing product data lifecycle, ensuring data accuracy and consistency, implementing data governance policies, integrating PIM with other business systems)
• Strong project management skills with the ability to define and prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide cross-functional teams
• Creative problem-solving skills with a focus on customer-centric solutions
• Proficient in data analysis to monitor performance and identify areas for improvement
• Knowledge of data governance frameworks and compliance standards
• Experience in Agile development and familiarity with Agile methodologies
• Strong understanding of business processes and of high-quality product delivery frameworks
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly to various stakeholders

Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with building materials product information requirements and standards
• Understanding of customer experience principles and how product information impacts customer satisfaction

Rate of pay may be adjusted based on the qualifications and experience of the candidate.
