The Assistant Athletic Trainer supports the Director of Sports Medicine/Zephyr FC Athletic Trainer and the Velocity Athletic Trainer in the day-to-day athletic training needs for Zephyr FC and Velocity FC athletes. The Assistant Athletic Trainer provides injury prevention strategies, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for players. This role reports directly to the Director of Sports Medicine/Zephyr FC Athletic Trainer. General job duties include, but are not limited to:
- Attends daily training sessions and home games between Zephyr FC and Velocity FC as determined by the Director of Sports Medicine.
- Delivers application of appropriate modalities before, during, and after training and games.
· Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions using evidence-based practices to guide decisions.
· Takes lead in a training or home game match coverage as needed.
- Support, in collaboration with medical staff, the early-stage rehabilitation design and implementation of individualized rehabilitation programs and return to fitness protocols.
- Electronically documents all relevant injury and illness information including mechanism of injury, examination and diagnosis, assessments, player treatments, and return to play progressions.
- Works in collaboration with Director of Sports Medicine to support programs to reduce the risk of injury and illness.
- Complies with OSHA standards regarding blood-borne pathogens.
- Keeps athletic training room and other areas safe, clean, and organized.
- Complies with all League medical policies and protocols.
- Abides by all local, state, and federal laws and regulations specific to the profession, codes, and standards of the associated governing bodies.
- Attends all activities/meetings/programs as required by the League.
- Attends activities/meetings/programs to maintain professional license(s) and continually improve the level of health care services delivered to the players.
This position must be able to work flexible hours which will include extended days, nights, weekends, holidays.
Minimum Qualifications Include:
- Must be certified by the Board of Certification (BOC) and be in good standing.
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience as an athletic trainer after receiving BOC certification.
· Preferred experience working in collegiate, professional, or international environments.
- Multilingual preferred.
- First Aid and CPR certification required.
- Personal liability insurance.
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check including a motor vehicle report.
- Possess and maintain a current and valid driver’s license and maintain legally required insurance.

Compensation and Benefits:
- Non-Exempt position with a range of $23 – 35 / hour
- Eligible for annual discretionary bonus.
- Paid 2 weeks’ vacation.
- Paid sick leave 1 hour for every 40 hours worked
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance provided with a 75% employer contribution for employee premiums.
- 50% employer contribution for dependent/spouse medical, dental, and vision.
- Employer paid employee life insurance and AD&D.
