Your Role: You will work closely with underwriters and underwriting assistants in binding insurance, servicing policies, and reviewing and following up on underwriting information. Your role will foster opportunities for growth, allowing team members to develop their insurance acumen for long-term advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multiple departments to ensure the best possible outcome for all inquiries while minimizing touches and providing excellent customer service
- Application evaluation: Evaluate applications, web search results, and business quotes via the web with guidance from coaches and leaders
- Binder preparation: Gather information and approval where necessary to prepare binders for delivery to customers
- Critical thinking: Apply critical thinking, problem solving and an underwriting mindset to all accounts
- Professional development: Pursue growth and development opportunities through USLI University, continuing education, workshops, and classes
- Process improvement: Communicate ideas for procedural or workflow improvement
- Reporting: Complete departmental specific reports or projects, including daily follow-ups and research on Bound Not Issued items
- Product knowledge: Develop in-depth knowledge of all products handled within the specific Underwriting Assistant Team. Additional opportunities for cross-training available long-term
- Inter-departmental understanding: Understand inter-departmental relationships and the duties of each, including Policy Issuance, Underwriting Services, Billing, and Underwriting
