Job Summary 
The Video Production Specialist is responsible for producing high-profile videos in support of the University’s strategic communication goals, including videos for use on the University’s website and social media channels. This position maintains and updates content for the University’s YouTube channel; live streams University events; and works closely with all areas within University Communications. The Video Production Specialist reports to the Marketing Communications Manager. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities 

1.  Shoots and edits content for digital platforms in support of the University’s strategic communication goals. Ensures that high production value and University brand standards are maintained. 
   
   
2.  Coordinates technical components of pre-production, such as location scouting, identifying and preparing equipment, and set preparation. Conducts field-based and studio production, including transporting and operating cameras, camera equipment, audio and lighting equipment, teleprompters, and microphones. 
   
   
3.  Edits high-profile videos. Completes a full range of editing tasks such as inserting voiceover, selecting music, developing transitions, and color correction. Collaborates with a team of graphic designers to develop motion graphics. Formats videos for specific social media platforms in collaboration with the social media team.
   
   
4. Develops and maintains a system for organizing and managing media assets including safe storage practices and consistent filing structure. Participates in proposal development for related hardware and software as needed.
   
   
5. Assists with management of the University’s primary YouTube channel by uploading content and ensuring videos are organized, easy for users to find and appropriately labeled. Maintains knowledge of latest video formats, specifications, and best practices for YouTube and other digital platforms.
   
   
6. Coordinates and executes live streaming of high-profile University events.
   
   
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
